Some days you really ought to stay in bed. Today was that day for me. You ever notice that your day goes according to how your hair looks? A bad hair day just sets the tone for the entire day. I mean its hard to look good when your hair looks bad. Suffice it to say I had a bad hair today.
It’s a holiday here in Canada. Victoria Day. I forgot it was Victoria Day though. I got up and rushed around like I had someplace to be, thinking I had to get the kids to school. For a school day, I had slept in. I started making mini pizzas for their lunches, and found the toaster oven wasn’t working… probably flipped a breaker… man, we were going to be late.
As I was making lunches, I was hollaring at them to get up. They came staggering into the kitchen as I was freaking out yelling that we were going to be late. Got their breakfast and was heading for the shower when my son asked, “where are we going?” I looked at him like he had 3 heads…. “uh… to school? you remember that big building you go to every Monday through Friday”? “Not me” he says… I don’t go to school on holidays… snicker snicker…
YOU MEAN I COULD HAVE SLEPT IN?!
As the day progressed, it was increasingly evident that sleeping in was exactly what I should have done. For the entire day. I managed to ruin an entire load of laundry… (spilled bleach - don’t ask, I don’t want to talk about it). My attempts to mow the lawn were in vain. Couldn’t start the lawn mower (yep, no gas). The whipper snipper shorted out on me… sparks flying everywhere (thats what happens when you whipper snip the cord). When I gave up and headed indoors, I stepped in a lovely little pile of poo my sweet little Yorkie left - right in front of the door… but of course I didn’t notice that until AFTER I tracked it into the house…
My sister called shortly after and I gave her my sob stories. She asked, “do you need a house to fall on you to realize that God wants you to take the day off?” No, no I don’t. I spent the afternoon watching Back to the Future with the kids, went out for dinner, and am home in time to get them into the shower and off to bed.
Thank God tomorrow is Tuesday, cuz everyone knows Bad Hair Days always Happen on Mondays… right?

Your right, the day is set by the way your hair looks. Sounds like your was standing on ends after reading the events of your day.

Lol! This post is so funny. I feel for you with the bad days. It always seems that once one thing happens, a whole succession of things happen. It can never be one bad thing at a time…

As much as I would love it to get on the front page of Digg, I don’t see it happening!
