Merry Christmas!I know that many people don’t like New Years Resolutions, but I disagree.  The new year is a great time to evaluate what’s working, and by contrast, what isn’t, and make changes.  A resolution is no more than resolving to accomplish something.  Too many people set lofty goals that are truly inachievable, but only because they don’t want it bad enough.

Anyone can really achieve anything they want to, if they really want to.  If you set goals that you are gung-ho about in the beginning, but run of of gusto for, it was probably not something that you REALLY wanted to achieve.

In my business in the coming new year, I resolve to be more choosey about who I spend my time with.  I resolve to give my time and energy to those most deserving of it - that meaning, those who have the right mind-set to achieve success in their business.  Those who take ownership and responsibility for their own success.

Have you ever noticed that taking responsibility for success seems easier to do than to take responsibility for failure?  A business associate of mine received this email from someone who has purchased affiliate products in the past:  ( I have edited out indentifying information)

OK I signed up with <program name>
I downloaded all the promo stuff read as
much as I had time to.  Are you going to
be more help than you were with <program>?
I never could get that setup right.

If you have time would you give me a call sometime
My primary <phone number>
( usually busy 6am-11:30am  1pm-5pm M-F MST)
home (please only as last resort) <his home phone>
or email at this address.

Hope this program works as well as it says.

Let’s get it right this time.
Later
<real persons name>

When my colleague shared this email with me, I had two reactions. The first was amusement. I thought it was very funny, but then I realized that this person really needs someone to tell him the truth, and I felt a little sorry for him.  He’s looking for some magic bullet that is going to change his world without any input from him.  My colleague decided to be that someone who shared the truth with this poor lost soul, and replied to him with this:

Dear <real person’s name>

I’m glad you were able to get all that FREE
material from the <program name>.

I’m sorry that you were not able to figure
<other program> out, but even sorrier that
you feel that I am responsible for your failure.
I can confidently assure you that the reason
you have not been successful is in no small part
due to your attitude.

Please do not expect me to call you as I am
equally confident that I cannot help you.  I
choose to spend my time working with those
who understand that they are responsible for
their own success.

There is no program or person that will DO
IT FOR YOU.  Once you understand that
“if it is to be, it is up to me”, you will begin
to achieve the success that you desire.

Wishing you the best,

<a true marketing mentor>

This is what I am talking about doing on a regular basis. We need to be careful who we spend our time with, and we also need to wake people up to reality.  There is no program on the internet, or anywhere else, that will work on your behalf without your input.  I have no desire to take credit for anyone’s success, if you make it, you make it because YOU did it.  YOU would have done it with or without my help.

Let’s keep it real out there folks, and put honesty and integrity back into internet marketing.

Merry Christmas to all!

Karen, I must agree, and I could not have said this better myself.

Karen, you hit the nail on the head. There is no silver bullet to income, you need to work for it.

I have to agree Karen, we have to work hard to achieve our success. I am just so thankful that I have found the CrazyFoxes Marketing Group and am looking forward to finally earning a real income in 2009.
