Women working from home are often juggling many responsibilities ranging from child care, elder care, house keeping and more. As caregivers, it is critical that we take care of ourselves first. Too often we put ourselves last in our list of priorities. This is a huge mistake and no one wins. To be the best you can be for the others in your life, you have to be your best for you first.
One of the things I find critical to my self esteem, especially working from home, is taking care of my physical appearance. It is an easy thing to “let go” when you work at home. Tempting as it is to forego the shower, getting dressed and doing hair and make-up, getting ready for the day can make the difference between getting work done or not. I have my PJ days, and they are most definately less productive.
I have heard much about mineral make up lately, it’s benefits, and it’s performance. People who have tried it and don’t like it, generally have issues with application. Once you learn how to properly apply it, mineral make up is an amazing product that will enable you to look great in minutes.

Have you ever heard of “The Fly Lady“? She has a great website filled with great tips for home and self care. She’s all about efficiency. The Fly Lady insists that her “flying students” get themselves ready for the day regardless of whether or not they leave the house. There is something psychlogically that happens to women who are dressed, have their hair done, and their face on. They are just far better equipped to handle anything that comes their way.Â
Another tip the Fly Lady gives is to wear shoes. Put your shoes on and keep them on. This is another psychological thing that seems to get us “ready to go”. Try it! It really works!
